Montserrat Customs & Excise Department plays a critical role in the economic and social wellbeing and development of Montserrat. The Department is responsible for the collection of over one-third of internally-generated revenue and is the first line of defence against the threat of drugs and other social ills.
Management and staff at the Customs and Excise Department are well aware that we face many challenges in the years ahead as international travel expands and those that would seek to evade duties and restrictions become more and more elusive. We are determined to play our role to the utmost in continuing to serve the people of Montserrat, both in terms of collecting revenue and also protecting our society.
The Department is in the process of implementing a modernisation plan aimed at improving the efficiency of services provided whilst continuing to provide an effective and customer oriented service. The creation of this website is one of the steps in this process.
